ETA e-receipt / e-invoice API for Egyptian software vendors
A hosted REST API + Laravel/PHP SDK that turns a plain JSON order into a compliant Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA) e-receipt or e-invoice: schema validation, GS1/EGS item coding, per-POS UUID chaining, submission, status polling, rejection diagnosis, QR generation. Vendors integrate in a day instead of weeks.
Egyptian POS vendors (restaurants, pharmacies, retail), e-commerce platforms (Easy Orders, Zammit, Storix), and Laravel agencies whose merchant clients are now legally required to issue e-documents. Today they fight the official .NET toolkit for weeks or pay 30k–150k EGP for custom work that breaks when ETA changes the schema.
- LLM classifier maps messy Arabic product names to GS1/EGS codes automatically
- Agent reads ETA rejection errors and proposes fixes in Arabic
- Photo → compliant document for merchants still on paper
Laravel-native, physically in Egypt, reads ETA decisions in Arabic the day they drop, can register a sandbox profile locally. The one good Laravel ETA Packagist package has 18 stars, last release May 2024 — owning the replacement is distribution.
| Signal | Detail |
|---|---|
| Threshold cut | Resolution 281/2025 lowered mandatory registration to EGP 250k; deadline 31 Mar 2026 passed |
| Simplified regime | Businesses under EGP 20M must use e-invoice/e-receipt |
| E-receipt waves | Pharmacies, clothing, durable goods, health sector in; new waves coming |
| Competition | Daftra, eDariba (~200 EGP/mo) for end-users; OrchidaTax, DDD Invoices priced for enterprise — no good mid-market API |
The signing model. E-invoices need an e-seal certificate from Egypt Trust / MCDR. If ETA forces on-machine signing, this becomes "SDK + licensed self-hosted signer container" — still sellable, but changes pricing and support. Validate this in week one before writing anything else.
- Days 1–3: Register on ETA preprod sandbox, document how e-receipt signing and third-party submission work
- Days 4–10: Ship a Laravel package that submits one e-receipt end-to-end in sandbox; publish on Packagist with Arabic README
- Days 10–14: DM 20 POS/e-commerce vendors + 20 Laravel agencies — "integration in one day from 1,500 EGP/month per vendor"
- Kill signal: Fewer than 3 vendors say they currently build or quote this themselves
40 vendor accounts at $100–150/month = $4k–$6k/month. Vendors recoup it by charging each merchant 100–200 EGP/month.
Academy OS — WhatsApp-native management for sports academies
Programs, sessions, subscriptions, renewals, attendance, waitlists, trial RSVPs, guardian and medical records — with parents living entirely in WhatsApp. Payments via Paymob/Fawry in Egypt and Mada/Tabby in Saudi. A direct productization of what KEEN already built.
Owners of private football, swimming, and gymnastics academies with 100–1,000 kids running on WhatsApp groups + Excel. Pain: chasing fees, no attendance records, trial no-shows, parents asking the same schedule questions, no churn visibility.
- WhatsApp agent that answers parents in Egyptian or Gulf Arabic
- AI-written progress reports from coaches' voice notes
- Churn alerts when a child misses two sessions + automatic warm outreach

| Saudi licensed academies | 171 in 2024/25, up 128% YoY (SAFF) |
| Saudi registrations Q2 2026 | +29% to 4,218 records |
| Competitors | Tamarran (Flat6Labs-backed), Athleasy, SquadHub, Rekaz (~£29/mo) — none WhatsApp-native with dialect AI |
Crowded Gulf market with funded local teams. Egyptian academies may only pay 1,000–2,500 EGP/month, so revenue depends on selling remotely into Saudi against vendors who can visit in person.
Interview 10 academy owners in person. Set up free 1-month "WhatsApp reminders + payment tracking" for 2 with n8n + spreadsheet. DM 30 Saudi academies on Instagram with a 60-second Arabic demo. Goal: 5 pilots at 1,500 EGP / 300 SAR/month.
Assistant dietitian on WhatsApp for online nutrition practices
Each dietitian connects their WhatsApp number. Clients send meal photos or Arabic voice notes; the bot logs them against the plan using an Arabic/Egyptian food database, sends check-ins and weigh-in reminders, and gives the dietitian a daily adherence digest plus a plan builder. Built directly on top of the existing calorie-tracking bot.
Dietitians in Egypt and the Gulf selling monthly subscription programmes via Instagram/WhatsApp with 50–500 clients. Manual follow-up doesn't scale past ~80 clients; clients silently drop off; renewals are chased by hand.
Photo and voice-note meal logging in dialect is the whole product. Existing Arabic tools (Hemyah, NutriCare, NutriCal, WellnessZ) are plan builders — none do client-side voice/photo logging. Adherence summaries and renewal prediction come free once logging exists.
Small payers + per-client WhatsApp costs now that Meta charges service messages. Must be priced per active client, not flat. Keep it logging and coaching — not medical advice — to stay out of health-regulation territory.
Find 15 Egyptian and Saudi Instagram dietitians. Offer free 30-day pilot of the logging bot for 20 of their clients. Measure logging rate and dietitian minutes saved. Price test: 500–1,000 EGP + per-client in Egypt, 200–400 SAR in Gulf.
Productized AI automation packages for Gulf SMEs
Three fixed-scope packages built on n8n, WhatsApp Business API, and Laravel: (a) Salla/Zid order operations; (b) lead intake to CRM with Arabic WhatsApp qualification; (c) back-office bots for invoice and voice-note extraction. Sold as one-time build + monthly retainer.
Saudi and UAE retailers/service businesses still on Zapier and a shared WhatsApp number. Dubai agencies quote AED 12k–40k per build plus AED 1.5k–5k/month. You can undercut by 40% while earning well from Egypt.
It's a service — revenue scales with hours, clients churn when their cousin learns n8n, and Meta's Business Agent commoditizes the simple bots. Treat it as 12 months of funding for idea 1 or 2, not the destination.
Two builds/month at ~5k SAR + six retainers at ~1.5k SAR ≈ $5k/month
Application studio for Arab students — sold via study-abroad consultancies
AI-assisted workspace for scholarship and visa applications: eligibility matcher, per-programme document checklist, motivation letter drafting from the student's own Arabic notes into polished English/German/Turkish, deadline tracker, mock interviews. White-labelled to consultancies with a self-serve tier for students.
Consultancies charging per application that spend time rewriting the same letters and chasing documents. Secondary: diaspora and Gulf-based families paying directly. Türkiye Bursları alone had 125,668 applications in 2025 from 171 countries.
Personal experience running real files: Brazil tourist visa, French humanitarian visa, Greek MFA scholarship, Czech scholarship + GAP-test prep. Knows actual checklists and failure modes for Palestinian and displaced applicants.
Consumer-adjacent, seasonal, low ARPU. Must be positioned as coaching/drafting from the student's own material — not AI-written essays — since programmes flag AI writing. Consultancies may be low-tech and slow to adopt.
WhatsApp outreach to 10 consultancies in Cairo and Amman. Offer to process their next 20 applications free. Test 300 EGP / $20 self-serve "letter + checklist" in Palestinian and Egyptian student groups aimed at the Jan–Feb 2027 Türkiye Bursları window. Timing matters: launch December 2026.
Cut — and why
Recommended sequence
Run #4 immediately for cash flow, and run the two-week validation for #1 in parallel. If the ETA signing model allows a hosted API, go all-in on #1. If it forces on-premise signing, sell it as SDK + licensed signer and keep #2 as the SaaS bet.
